“For to us a child is born. To us a son is given; and the government will be on his shoulders. His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6 (WEB).
It is important to believe in Him whose name is Wonderful. His name is Wonderful and that means He does wonders (miracles). He does them all the time. He does not only turn water into wine, or just outward miracles like that, but most of all He does miracles in us. This is quite simply because He is God.
Believe in miracles
To believe in God means to believe in wonders, in miracles. The sad thing is that when people (also God’s people) think of wonders, they only think of things that are on the outside that can be seen. Their thoughts and interests are only about outward things.
We believe in the virgin birth where Mary conceived and gave birth to Jesus while she was still a virgin. This should teach us to believe in wonders within us, that something godly can be born and created in our heart and mind without the will or the strength of our human nature, without the will or the strength of man—by supernatural means, not limited by our own weakness or lack of power as human beings.
The fact that we don’t manage to stop sinning in our own strength does not prove that it is impossible; it simply proves that our own strength is not enough.
Therefore, we need God to do wonders inside us - and He does them happily. And then it will succeed. Glory to God!
Do we have a reason to believe that we can get full victory over all sin, completely? Yes, believe in wonders, in miracles! Believe that one miracle will follow another—inside us, in our heart and mind!
Then something wonderful and godly will be formed inside us, in our heart and mind, and this will also bring miraculous results on the outside, in our daily life, in the difficulties of life.
Believe in “virgin births!” In other words, that we don’t need to have any strength in ourselves.
Live all the time in this faith that wonders are happening in your life, and you will not be disappointed! Then both you and others will always have reason to say, “Yes, it is truly a miracle.”
