God must have a purpose for me

God created each one of us individually and with a purpose. We need to understand the purpose He has for our lives.

God must have a purpose for me

God gave me life, but why? God must have had a purpose for creating me!

I am not like most people of my age: the difference is that I’ve received grace—and I really see it as grace—to believe in Jesus; He forgave my past sins when I was converted, and that made me very happy. But there has to be more to my life with Christ than just the forgiveness of sins. God must have had a purpose for my life when He created me!

The life of Jesus

When I open my Bible, it is Jesus’ own words which speak to me: “Then I said, ‘Here I am—it is written about me in the scroll— I have come to do your will, my God.’“ Hebrews 10:7 (NIV). Yes, Jesus did God’s will here on earth. Then I read verse 5: “… a body You have prepared for Me.” I also have a body. Has God also prepared a body for me, to do His will? What is His will? Is that also clearly written in the Bible?

I read in 1 Thessalonians 4:3 (ESV): “For this is the will of God, your sanctification…” The will of God is my sanctification, He wants me to be holy. And in verse 7 (NCV) it says: “God called us to be holy and does not want us to live in sin.” He wants me to be holy. Sanctified, holy … these words fit for Jesus, but they also apply to me! I know that God exists. And He can help me to live a life of holiness and sanctification, just like Jesus. Here, in my everyday circumstances, I can be sanctified, I can become holy!

God created me with a purpose in life

God has created me to live a life that pleases Him, and that is the purpose for my life here! And He is giving me all the strength and guidance I need to do this! “Strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man…” Ephesians 3:16. His will never allows me to sin, and He gives me the help and strength so that I can live without sinning, just as Jesus lived.

I am full of joy and faith in God, and even though Satan tries to tempt me, I know from God’s Word that God’s way with me will succeed. I see that having my sins forgiven was just a beginning, and I look forward to walking with God every day—a true and faithful walk in which I “follow His steps: Who committed no sin…” 1 Peter 2:22.

I am becoming more and more happy in this life of sanctification, and I know that my joy will stay with me in eternity after I die.

The happiness I have already received from this awesome life drives me to share my story with you. God has created me with a purpose, and He has created you with the same purpose. He is a loving God and is waiting to help you come to a life where you overcome all sin! What better way to use this body that He has created for you? Give yourself completely to God; read His Word just as it’s written, and start doing it! I can guarantee that your life will be filled with meaning and purpose!
