Be kind to one another!
“Be kind and loving to each other, and forgive each other just as God forgave you in Christ.” Ephesians 4:32 (NCV).
“Be kind to one another with a brother's love…” Romans 12:10 (BBE).
In general, people are hard-hearted to a greater or lesser degree. This comes from sin. And we need to get really saved from sin, and be completely changed before we can become kind-hearted towards others.
A kind heart is something very rare. To be kind-hearted we need to understand the others and have compassion.
The truth is that we have the same sinful nature and habits within us as everyone else, and we have experienced that it is difficult to overcome these sinful habits. This is the reason why we should have compassion with others when they fall.
It is totally wrong to say, “I just cannot understand that he or she did this or that!” Instead, we should rather say: “That is really sad, but I understand it very well, and I have good reason to show compassion and understanding.” Yes, just think if it had been you or me!
All of us have good reason to be radical in seeking to be saved from all hardness. Then it becomes natural for us to be kind-hearted toward one another in daily life. May it be so.
