New hope!

What would Christianity have been if Jesus hadn’t come to earth? In the time around Christmas it is good to think about why Jesus wanted to be born as a human being, and what this can mean for my life.

The day Jesus was born was the day when a new hope began for everyone who was tired of being a “slave” to their own lusts, desires, and all their sinful human habits – hope came for everyone who longed to get rid of all the coldness and evil in their own nature; everything that destroys peace, and goodness. A new hope began for everyone who longed for what is uplifting and encouraging.

Jesus is the one who is able to bring order to all things. (Hebrews 9:10.) He is a master in saving us and making us free from sin. He overcame all darkness and death and was the first to bring the message of light! He is the prince of peace, the Saviour, and ruler; the one who brings us and God together. (1 Timothy 2:5.) He came to earth, and it is His lowly and humble coming that we think about and celebrate during these days around Christmas.

New hope for freedom in Jesus Christ!

Let us be full of joy because Jesus was born. By His birth, many prophecies were fulfilled. By His life, we can now be saved from doing sin. By our life we now also can “destroy the works of the devil” just as Jesus did. (1 John 3:8.)

We who were slaves of sin before, can now be made free by admitting the truth about ourselves as we read in John 8:31-36 (GNT): “So Jesus said to those who believed in him, ‘If you obey my teaching, you are really my disciples ... you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free … I am telling you the truth: everyone who sins is a slave of sin ... If the Son sets you free, then you will be really free.’”

– Free to stop doing our own will!
– Free to live the life of Jesus!
– Free to unselfishly serve the others!
– Free to love everyone without exceptions!

This incredible freedom in Jesus Christ is now possible for each one of us. It is no wonder that the angel said, “’Don't be afraid! I am here with good news for you, which will bring great joy to all the people. This very day in David's town your Savior was born—Christ the Lord! And this is what will prove it to you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.’ Suddenly a great army of heaven's angels appeared with the angel, singing praises to God: ‘Glory to God in the highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom he is pleased!’” Luke 2:10-14 (GNT).

Open the door of your heart for Him!

He really deserves our loyalty, all our love, attention, and that we should listen to Him! He is also listening for our prayers. He wants to personally talk to us and have fellowship with us. (Revelation 3:20; 1 Corinthians 1:9.) Let us open the doors of our hearts for His voice, His light, His warmth, and His unending love! All the joys in the world are as nothing compared to being gripped by Him!

Is this new hope also your hope?
