“Works of the flesh”, or “acts of the flesh”, are conscious sin, they are things we know to be sin before we do them. These are not “accidents” but sins we do knowingly. We have to repent from these sins, and stop with them when we are converted. “The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like.
