Hate your own life

Hating your own life simply means that you hate the selfish, proud, egotistical, and sinful nature that lives within you. You hate the part of yourself that is made corrupt by sin (your sinful human nature, your flesh). It has nothing to do with low self-esteem (which is feeling badly about yourself) or inferiority complexes (feeling you are not as good as others, feeling worthless), which do not come from God. To hate your own life (the sin in your human nature) is one of the things needed to be a disciple. (John 12:25; Luke 14:26; Romans 7:15-18.)
