Guarding your heart (your mind, your attitude, your inner life and relationship with God) is the same as keeping your heart pure. It is when you make sure that no temptations in the form of impure or sinful thoughts are allowed to enter your heart, but are stopped while they are just a thought. It is being watchful against any evil influences in your spiritual life. (Proverbs 4:23.)
